While I was in Milan for the European Lisp Symposium recently, I had to spend one
of the evenings in Milan preparing my presentation on <nop>CoCreate Modeling,
and so there wasn't much time left to enjoy the city. But I had my running
shoes with me, and so I sneaked out of the hotel for two hours in the evening
to marvel at sights such as the

the [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galleria_Vittorio_Emanuele_II][Galleria Vittorio Emanuele]],
the Parco Sempione and the Arena Civica,
[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castello_Sforzesco][Castello Sforzesco]],
[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Scala][the Scala]],
[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cimitero_Monumentale_di_Milano][Cimitero Monumentale]],
the Corso Como, the 
[[http://www.virtualtourist.com/travel/Europe/Italy/Lombardy/Milan-148247/Nightlife-Milan-The_Brera-BR-1.html][Brera quarter]], or
[[http://www.peck.it/lingua-EN/sid-886057734/][Peck]] (not much of a sight when closed, though).

Sightrunning is just perfect to get a first impression of a city - next time I'm in Milan,
I'll already know my way around and what I want to see more of!
